FERRARI DAYTONA SPYDER GTS/4 REPLICA ONE OF THE FEW MCBURNIE COACHCRAFT KITS LEFT IN EXISTENCE Frey Motor Cars is pleased to offer this Ferrari Daytona Spyder GTS/4 replica, factory assembled by Mcburnie Coachcraft, the very company that was commissioned to build the Daytonas for the popular "Miami Vice" television show. This particular vehicle was the 2nd to last Daytona replica to be built by Mcburnie before the end of its production. This one started life out as a 1980 Corvette and boasts 14,049 original miles to this day. The factory 350 engine still remains and has recently been nicely detailed. It features an aftermarket exhaust with headers and produces a nice throaty rumble. A Holley carburetor was also added to pack a little more punch. The Daytona starts every time, runs strong, drives straight and shifts smoothly through all of the gears. This is a nicely equipped car from the factory featuring such options as: Automatic Transmission Power Steering Power Brakes Power Windows Power Locks Factory Air Conditioning Tilt/Telescopic Steering Cruise Control A vintage Ferrari style wood steering wheel and an AM/FM cassette stereo were also added to the vehicle. The original interior was customized to replicate that of the Daytona style, utilizing quality upholstery and design. You will receive with the purchase of the vehicle a large binder full of information on the vehicle from Mcburnie, company history, and build information. For those of you that do not know the history and value of the Mcburnie Coachcraft company, they were the leader in quality and design of the Ferrari Daytona replicas. The company spent 8 1/2 months on the patterns for the molds alone, hiring on Chuck Carter, head pattern maker for the Excalibur to accomplish the task. Many companies purchased these kits to build replicas of their own, each taking design elements and details away from the original to keep them out of legal troubles, but also taking away from the precision and exactness of the vehicle, thus always making them sub par to the Mcburnie. Mcburnie kit cars have been featured on television and in magazines since their conception and continue to hold an intrinsic value.
